Renee, Adam, Angelica, Wess and I arrived in San Jose this morning. Helen Fisher, Ontario's director hitched a cab ride with Wess and Adam. Checking into the hotel, I bumped into Jill Harris, one of the folks who was at Eureka with me and Angelica. Weather is sunny but cool. Vivian and Jason had brought up the 2 PALs and exhibit supplies the night before. It took us about 2 hours to set everything up and looks very fun and cool. I hope we get lots of libraries who want to purchase them! Vivian went out of her way to get us Subway sandwiches and ice tea for lunch - thank you Vivian!
Exhibits are open from 3pm to 6pm. Renee did a great booth schedule for us. I'll mostly be staffing our PAL booth on Saturday so today I plan on checking out the other booths. I'll be staffing the Eureka Leadership booth from 4pm - 5pm. They set it up to look like a mad scientist's lab - very neat. I think they have lab coats for us to wear!
Tonight is the CLA Awards gala where we will receive our PR Excellence Awards for Wild Card Category for our Cultural Arts Nights and Best in Show for the Black History Month Cultural Arts Night poster. I put together the display board with the compilation of all winning entries and Carol was a big help in putting together our Black History Month display board - it looks really awesome! The boards will be displayed during tonight's event and there was some talk of having them displayed at the CLA booth which would be great. Our PAL booth is directly across from the CLA booth. Jason and I went over there to check out the SRP goodies for next year's Reading is So Delicious theme. There were some cute items - gives me a good idea of what we should purchase for our program.
